Dosan Seowon

The Confucian academy founded in memory of Yi Hwang (Toegye), the scholar on Korea's 1,000-won note, and part of the UNESCO-listed Seowon group since 2019. Low tiled halls step up a wooded slope above the Nakdong River, laid out to teach restraint rather than impress. Quiet on weekday mornings.
